We are Slovak biathletes Paulína Fialková and Ivona Fialková but we call ourselves #fialky.
There are two coaches that complement our small professional team. Anna Murínová is the coach responsible for shooting while coach Martin Bajčíčák focuses on our physical fitness. The fifth member of the team is a physiotherapist Radovan Jambor.
We are all members and at the same time also employees of The Military Sports Centre (VŠC) Dukla Banská Bystrica.
In our annual plan the prepratory phase (April – November) is followed by the competitive phase (December – March). Since the training conditions in Slovakia are not satisfactory enough, as a part of preparatory phase our team is forced to travel especially abroad where we attend various training camps.
The competitive phase includes the World Cup competition series, World Championships, European Championships and IBU Cup. The Winther Olympic Games is the highlight of the four-year cycle. The city to host next Winter Olympics in 2022 is Beijing.
Everybody can imagine how huge the expenses of a professional athlete may be. In order to not to lag behind the competition and especially behind the other elite biathletes, intensive and quality training is a must. Speaking of the importance of preparation, besides financial aid from the state there are also adveritising partners who help us increase the quality of training.
